What to Expect

Before Your First Visit:

After scheduling your initial visit at Kindred Family Chiropractic, you will receive an email with a thorough intake form to get an overall view of your health. We ask that you provide as much detail in your paperwork to help Dr. Gilmer get a full picture and tailor your care for your specific health goals. You must have the paperwork filled out before your first visit to the office or your appointment may be rescheduled.

Day 1:

Your first visit is all about you! We want to connect and get to know you and your health goals and see how we can best serve you!

After talking through your history with Dr. Gilmer, we will do a scan with the Insight scanner which helps us assess how your spine and nervous system are performing as well as what structural compensations your body might be making to adapt to different stress on your nervous system. After the scan, Dr. Gilmer will do hands on orthopedic and ROM tests.

Once your history, scans and hands on exam are finished, we will go over your health goals and determine if our office is the right fit for you and your needs. If we are a good fit, you will receive your first adjustment. Please allot the appropriate time needed, as the first visit will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Our office understands the needs of pediatric patients, especially with Neuro-developmental and Sensory Processing Disorders. In these cases, we will provide a specific sensory-based assessment for your child. Please let us know before your first visit how we can best accommodate you and your child’s needs such as setting up a phone consultation, splitting appointment times, or blocked off hours for an in-office examination.

Day 2:

By the time of your second visit, Dr. Gilmer has gone over all of your results along with your care goals and has created a care plan specific to your individual health needs. During this time, you can ask any questions or concerns that you may have about your care plan. Please feel free to bring a family member along for an extra set of ears or to help you succeed in your goals. You will also receive an adjustment this visit. Please allow for 30-45 minutes for this appointment.
